In Spain a month ago, this sort-of-Scotch was recommended to me and I bought a bottle.
As a fan of Scotch, I’ve tried lots of different brands, but this stuff is amazing. It’s made with a selection of over 30 malt and grain whiskies aged between 5 and 8 years, which are blended together and matured in Sherry butts in Scotland for three years. Following that, the whisky is shipped off to Jerez, where it is transferred to Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and finished for a year before it is bottled.
This is the smoothest Scotch I’ve tried, with a taste and finish that’s unique in my experience. If I’d realized it wasn’t available in the US, I’d have brought a couple of bottles home.

No wonder it's smooth. It's only 82 proof.
Odessaman, Yeah, that’s it!
Too bad the store is 130 miles away. Might have to order a case.
Nowhere Mon, 80 proof is pretty much standard for whiskey, Scotch or bourbon or rum or tequila.

I ordered 3 bottles to save a bit on the shipping cost. With shipping and tax, it comes to a little over $43 a bottle. Worth it in my opinion.

I'm not a huge whiskey fan but this sounds interesting.
I gotta try this.
Thank you Japle!
