Extra magazines for semi autos
I keep 2 mags in my pants pockets. Also one extra mag in the truck.

I usually pocket carry, so often carry an extra mag in another pocket.
If I feel that my surroundings will require more than one mag, I will carry something bigger rather than a third mag.
Often enough, it's just the 6+1. Depends on the plans and the clothes.

You all still chewing over this?
Just get a mag pouch, like every holster maker sells.
Or just carry one in your mouth, rambo style.
Just be careful when switching back and forth between the mag and your k-bar.

A lot depends on the mag capacity.
My first pistol had a mag capacity of 17.
If that wasn't enough, more rounds probably wouldn't matter.
I did carry one more in case of a mag problem, though.
One of the quickest ways to deal with a malfunction is to simply change mags and rack the slide.
You do practice that, don't you?

Not trying to be facetious here, but your kidding right? You only carry 6 + 1 in your gun and wondering about if you should have a second mag? 2 is 1 and 1 is none. Additionally that's why I will never carry a single stack as a primary.
Think about this......
Have you ever heard from anyone that has just finished being in a gunfight say " I have way too many bullets left over ".

On a trip to downtown Miami the other night, I carried my XDS .45. In addition, I had two extra 7 round mags in a belt carrier, and two more in a cargo pocket. Along with some other appropriate stuff.

How'd that mag holder work for you?trouter3 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 12:49 pm Just placed an order for extra belt mag from company recommended in thread, getting real old carrying extra magazines in my pockets, even tho I wear cargo shorts with many deep pockets could never get it in a position where it was comfortable and didn't move around ...thanks for the recommendation ....
If I'm pocket carrying my LCP I will put a spare mag in my other pocket as well. I like to use an Ammo Armor mag protector if I pocket carry. Picture of the one I use in the OP of this thread:chester field wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 6:59 pm I usually pocket carry, so often carry an extra mag in another pocket.

I normally belt carry a P365 with a belt mag holder that I linked to on the first page of this thread. But for around the house or when I'm in dress slacks with a tucked in shirt I'll pocket carry either my LCP or 380 Bodyguard and have the spare mag in an Ammo Armor protector. Keeps pocket link out of the magazine and protects it from getting dinged up as well.

I added a springer basepad to my Beretta px 4 magazine and now I can carry 19 rounds.

I modified my pants and made a dedicated pocket to carry a spare magazine.
Still working on a way to carry the 8 gauge without creating a panic.
